About Kammarkoll
Kammarkoll is a search engine for what has been said in the chamber of the Swedish Riksdag. You can see what parties and members have actually said on an issue, in their own words, with the source one click away.
What can you search?
The speeches in the debates of the Riksdag: government bills and committee reports, interpellations, question times, party leader debates and special debates, from the parliamentary year 2022/23 onwards. That is about 400,000 paragraphs in just over 3,500 debates, and new debates are fetched every day.
How does the search work?
You can write a subject, a question or whole sentences, in English or in Swedish. The search looks both for the words you write and for paragraphs that mean roughly the same thing, even when they use other words. That is why "poor children and leisure activities" also finds speeches about the leisure card and fees in sports clubs.
From a hit you can dig further: find speeches saying roughly the same thing in other debates, or see what was said before and after. Words that turn up in the hits become subjects you can click.
Translations made by AI
The debates are held in Swedish, and the Riksdag publishes them only in Swedish. The English text is translated in advance by an open language model that we run ourselves. It may contain errors; the Swedish original is what was said. The search is always made in the Swedish original, and a debate that is not yet translated is shown in Swedish.
Summaries written by AI
Where they are shown, the summaries of the debates are written in advance by an open language model that we run ourselves, not through any AI company's service. They may contain errors, for example attributing to one party what another party said. The numbers in a summary lead to the speech the statement builds on; always check against the source before you quote.

These services are used, and only when you choose it yourself:
